Connect & Contact

May 22, 2025 12:00 p.m.

Maria Ortiz, Program Coordinator for Connect & Contact, an initiative aimed at supporting individuals facing food insecurity, mental health struggles, and housing instability through hands-on culinary training.

Maria will share how Connect & Contact provides a low-barrier opportunity for participants to learn cooking skills, gain confidence, and reconnect with the community. Led by professional chefs, this program empowers individuals who are often overlooked, allowing them to develop new skills while being monetarily reimbursed for their work.

This inspiring initiative not only helps individuals gain practical experience but also works to improve food security in the community.
