Back-to-School Supplies Drive

Community Services in West Kelowna is collecting school supplies and backpacks to help supplement families in our community who indicate a need through their programs.

Members who are able to donate school supplies or backpacks are encouraged to drop them off at:

Community Services
101–3531 Old Okanagan Hwy.
West Kelowna

Any surplus supplies will be stored for use in their Christmas program and next year's school-supply needs, allowing donations to continue supporting local families throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who helps support children and families in our community!

Conor in Brazil!

Our Rotary Youth Exchange student, Conor Schoene, has sent us his first update from São Luís, Brazil, and it sounds like he is having an incredible time!

Conor shared that he has been adjusting very well to life in Brazil and is enjoying his new host family. He has already started school, volleyball, running, and going to the gym, and has begun making friends both at school and with other international students in the city.

He's also already picking up some Portuguese. One of his new favourite words is “praia,” which means beach!

We're thrilled to hear that Conor is settling in so well and taking full advantage of everything this exchange has to offer.

Rotary Youth Exchange is about much more than travelling to another country. It gives young people the opportunity to experience a different culture firsthand, develop independence and confidence, build international friendships, and become ambassadors for their own community and country.

We look forward to hearing more from Conor throughout his year in Brazil and following along with his adventures!

We hope everyone enjoys the photos Conor shared with his update. 🇨🇦🇧🇷
